My Website

Image
Creating a website was an interesting experience, with maybe a lot of emotional roller coasters! To start off, it was interesting getting to know the language in which to make the website, it felt like coding, however, it is just a markup of our language in a way that the computer understands it.   The only difficult part was learning the mark up of the language, it took me maybe an hour, but after that I was off and creating a website! I chose to create a website based off of my favorite hobby because I would at least be passionate about it.   That would indeed be hiking! I thought to myself that I have been hiking for years, and know how to adequately prepare myself responsibly so I can hike safely. Based off of this knowledge, I made a website that informed a person about what the ten essentials are for hiking.   The idea seemed simple, however I ran into a couple of issues.   I had to learn how to change font size and color, and what font I actually wanted. Then figuring how to
Postal Service Vs. Email In this blog I will be discussing the postal service, and email, and the differences between the two. Well first off, to define the postal service, it is mail sent from one person to another, through a government run program, and it is delivered by people. To define email, it is mail sent via the internet, and it is almost instant, with no use for human involvement. To compare the two, email is instantaneous, no people involved, costs nothing, while the us postal service takes time, can get lost, costs money, and in general just more work. Now you may be asking, why don't we just switch completely to email? Well to simply straight it, email still cannot transport mass, meaning it cannot send things such as presents for Christmas. This may happen in the future, but not for a very, very long time! However, the internet is used to send things such as gifts, just take a look at the very popular amazon. We use amazon to find a purchase, enter a mailing address

A Visit by Eric

A Visit by Erik Erik Hanberg, visited my class and explained to us what he had done throughout his life to become successful. To be honest, he seemed very successful, and looked like he attempted and failed many things until after a plethora of hard work, he has succeeded. This is a work ethic that I have always believed in, work hard , and it will eventually pay off. It pays off cause eventually you get to do whatever you want when you want because you have saved up the money throughout the years.  He started out working at a theatre, then tried to run his own, onto running a few websites and businesses, then his own website with his wife, now he has written many books and used the internet to become successful in selling them! This made me think of what I could use the internet for to make me successful. I started thinking of how I hike weekly, and have been to many amazing places. Well I figured if I took a social media such as Instagram, then start writing blogs for hiking compan
What do I expect from my class Living and Working in the Virtual World? Well I guess I would have to look into what we are learning and tie it into what my major is. For starters, I am interested in majoring in the field of cyber security, which also is a reason why I chose to take this class. I figured that if I am going to major into a field that deals with computers, I might as well learn some history about them. What I really expect to learn from this class is how the internet works, and the justice side of internet. For example, what's legal, and illegal. For instance, what is the silver lining between what you can do, and cannot due on the internet, and what are the punishments if you do get in trouble with the justice system? Is it just a fee, or can it be prison time? I guess that all depends on the crime done however. Basically, in this class, I expect to learn all this and more, I want to be filled with knowledge so I don't have any surprises sneaking up on me when
