Startup.com

The Startup.com movie gave me many insights about the internet boom and all the startups.  This particular movie had to deal with three friends that came up with an idea to create a website that allowed you pay federal fees online without having to leave your house, unless you didn’t have internet at home.  This movie basically had three steps to it, the struggling to come up with a website and the name, and to get funding, then to success with millions of dollars, then to absolute failure.  The three founders were Tom, and Kaleil Izuz Tuzman.  The first founder I believed to be very smart, he invested thousands of dollars, then left early with about seven hundred thousand dollars. This may seem like he ripped his buddies off, but it was smart considering he still had another job and wasn’t fully invested into the website, and he was the only one who ended up making profit from the startup. Tom seemed nice at first, but at second glance, he really didn’t care. He openly stated as a CO-CEO that he didn’t care if the company failed, that it didn’t affect him as much.  Then there was Kaleil, he did everything he possibly could to keep the startup running, and I believed him to be the best with the better morals of the group, that’s until I learned after the video that he was a con man! However, he did care about the startup and stayed with it until the very end. Also, he did end up getting a dog!  In the end, I believed the video was very insightful in respect to it showing the deep struggles that arrive with starting a startup!
